Also known as Metro Sactionals, the 5 Series line is about 20% smaller than the original LoveSac Sactional. So what does that mean? Well, let’s compare the floor plans between a 5 Series and 6 Series Four Cushion Chaise Sectional and Ottoman.

First the 5 Series dimensions…

Next we have the 6 Series dimensions…

As you can see, choosing a 5 Series sactional will save you 3 inches of width, 3 inches of cushion depth, and 8 inches of total length when you factor in the chaise seat. While this may not seem like an overwhelming difference, what most people don’t realize is that an average sofa width ranges between 72″ and 90″. The point being that a 5 Series Metro is actually larger than a traditional sofa, even though it is smaller than its big brother.

Now one “drawback” to the Metro line in my opinion is the cover fabric, and this is something that is easy to miss if you’re not paying attention. The only fabric types available right now for them are leather, tweed, and velvish.  The tweed and velvish covers are a step down from the rhinoplush, phur, and herringsuede fabrics used in 6 Series sactionals. What’s the difference? Really it all boils down to the backing attached to the fabric. The 6 Series fabrics have a higher quality backing that helps resist stretching and improves loft. It also helps make your sactional appear more crisp when no one is sitting in it. The leather covers are identical in both Series 5 and 6.

I should mention there is nothing inherently wrong with the tweed and velvish covers. All sactionals have a 3 year cover guarantee and a lifetime guarantee on the bases and sides. In the end it is simply a choice between good and great. The most obvious advantage to choosing “good” is the significantly lower price.

While there may only be a 20% reduction in size from a 6 Series to a 5 Series sactional, the savings are much greater. Here is a price comparison between the two packages used in our dimension overview above:

That is a savings of $1,150 or just over 30% for choosing the 5 series. That puts a pretty nice television in front of your new sactional! Keep in mind too that LoveSac has free shipping for all online orders so there are no hidden costs involved. And some of you may only need a loveseat or couch-sized sactional, which would obviously cost even less.

At the end of the day, the 5 Series Metro Sactionals are a good fit for apartment or condo dwellers who want to maximize their living space. If however you are furnishing a basement or other living space with more room, then the enhanced fabric options of the 6 Series are likely worth the additional cost.

The LoveSac SuperSac pretty much defines the features most people think of when buying a giant bean bag. At 6 feet in diameter it comfortably seats 2 adults with plenty of arm and leg room. A fully fluffed SuperSac stand about 3 feet high and weighs almost 70 pounds. These dimensions make it similar to a standard loveseat (no relation lol) you would find at a furniture store.

A lot of people get stuck deciding between the smaller MovieSac vs the SuperSac. If this is the case for you then the big difference in my opinion is the SuperSac is much better for sleeping purposes. Whether you like to nap in the afternoon or pass out after a big night out, the SuperSac excels in this category. The key being that your feet will not hang over the side like they do on a MovieSac.

Another bonus with the larger dimensions of this product is being able to comfortably seat two people. Even if you typically watch movies or play video games alone, you never know when a special guest come over. And if you are a pet owner you won’t want to be fighting for space with Fido or Mr. Whiskers, both of whom will be regular visitors to the best seat in the house.

All LoveSacs are built the same way. The inner stuffing is shredded Durafoam, which you add to a polyester zipped insert called a naked sac. The amount of Durafoam and the size of your naked sac insert depends on what model you order. The fashionable LoveSac covers are what holds your foam-filled naked sac and provides extra comfort, protection, and style. So basically you have three layers to a LoveSac – the Durafoam, the naked sac insert, and the cover. SuperSacs sold with covers include all three layers along with a duffel bag for shipping.
